Businesses are encouraged to create their own event and get it on the 40th Anniversary Calendar.

Main Street Update ~ Tim and Marc: Tim reported that a meeting of the full main street redesign was held. A new plan was was shown with loading zones added and more parking spots were put back. Bill Billerman suggested that 3 spots be removed to open up Mid’s Park. Marc countered that there was already too much parking removed from the North end of main street and we needed to keep those as parking spots. A vote was held anyway and all on the committee voted to remove the spots except for the LPBA reps who voted no and MJ and Brad who abstained.

Marc reported that he and MJ were able to organize and execute a smaller group meeting including Mayor Randall, MJ, Marc, Brad Hathaway and Jim Edgecombe (phone) Ivan also called in at times. Jim reminded us that at our last full Main Street meeting it was determined that we needed to add back as much parking as possible within the scope of the grant framework. The focus was the north end of the street. It was determined the center line could be moved and some more parking could be added on the North End. We also discussed the importance of a large loading zone to serve that end which would be where it is currently (in front of St Eustace.) Parking was also added back to the front of Mids Park. A drop off zone at the corner of Mid’s park by the Haus was also added. It was also discussed that the current plant doesn’t have sufficient space allocated for loading zones. This has been updated and we should have a true count of the actual/gain loss in parking within the project zone. We will continue to work on a couple of other areas, #1 main area  and in front of theChristmas Shop and the Haus which are currently street bound. The next full meeting of the group is 12/18/19, noon, at the beach house. The plan is evolving daily.  Updates to the plan will be discussed then.

Village ~ Email to Marc on behalf of Art Devlin, read by Tim Robinson

DPW – once again, DPW is throwing all of its resources unto keeping up with winter. They have installed 2 parking stations in the big lot by the post office. The new meters are both demos from 2 different companies. If you get a chance to try the meters out & have any comments, good or bad, we would love to hear them

Electric – THe village is hoping to award 2 seperate contracts for work to be done at the sub-station by the firehouse at tomorrow’s workshop meeting. This work will take approx. 2yrs to complete. This will enable the Village to shut the power off where it enters the Village from national grid and also bypass the sub station if there’s a problem and to operate solely on the substation at the Electric Dept.
They are also hoping to award buds for continued tree cutting on the Adirondack Lodge Road. Despite the high winds we’ve had this year, the vilalge has had few if any problems with tree falling on power lines. Kimball feels this has a lot to do with tree cutting. He says the cutting is also helping from the standpoint that once a tree does come down, the only thing required is to remove one tree not several

Police – There is a 5k run on May 30. This is being sponsored by law enforcement and is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics. If anyone is interested in running or making a donation Chuck Dobson is the contact person. The best place to reach him is the police department 523-3306
